The “Back to School Project” was developed with coordinated efforts
from the community and Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex. Its purpose is
to let children know they are important and to give them confidence in themselves
as they begin a new school year. It also assists parents when money is
needed for groceries, rent or other more pressing priorities. When a child receives
the supplies and exclaims “My own new eraser!” you know a difference
has been made in the life of a child.
Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex collects school supplies all year to
prepare for distribution throughout the school year. Individuals like you
helped Mission Arlington distribute school supplies to over 7,500 children and
youth last year. This year, with our economic challenges, we anticipate the
need will be even greater. You can make a difference in the lives of our students
by providing basic supplies for the new school year.
ALSO: Volunteers are needed Monday through Saturday to gather, sort
and organize the supplies. Stop by to help or call Tillie, Debbie or Lauren at
817-277-6620 for more information. There are volunteer opportunities for individuals,
families and groups. |
